Hi there! I’m Jesse.

I’m a lifelong learner & recent graduate of Brown University. While there, I took courses across 24 academic departments (including my cross-registrations at the Rhode Island School of Design), hosted conferences, and made friends with other designers. I grew up in New England and think Providence, RI is tragically under-appreciated.

These days I am balancing my time across the coastal Northeast, looking for full-time and freelance opportunities in/around design & media. I also write more freely and sparingly about design, tech, media, and life happenings over on Substack.

Some media/people/design I’ve been loving lately…

  • 99% Invisible (nothing new here. I love you Roman Mars.)

  • Erika Hall, Mike Monteiro, & Ruined by Design

  • Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri

  • On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong

  • Kat Holmes; Mismatch is a must read if you design anything (which is everyone, in Kat’s words.)

  • What Can a Body Do? by Sarah Hendrin

  • Spacey Jane’s new album

  • Giorgia Lupi. A living legend.

  • Playtime (Jacques Tati, 1967)

  • Anything The Hunger Games now and forever (I need to read the new book ASAP)

I’m always open to suggestions. Drop me a line at jessehogan25@gmail.com.
